SupplyOne Designs an Ecofriendly Solution to Replace Difficult to Recycle Foam Packaging

Who

A major manufacturer of food processing equipment serving customers across the globe turned to SupplyOne to help reduce the impact their packaging and packaging operations had on the environment.

The Problem

Their packaging included foam inserts to protect their products throughout a rigorous transportation process. Although foams used in the packaging process can be recycled, it often finds its way to landfills. Because of its porous nature, it is difficult to clean and costly to recycle at scale. The company pledged to eliminate all foam from its packaging as part of the manufacturer's commitment to a more sustainable operation. They needed a supplier that could help them design a sustainable, environmentally friendly packaging solution.

How We Solved It

SupplyOne's Packaging Specialists worked with the company to develop a custom-designed corrugated carton that provided the structure and protection necessary to protect the machinery throughout the entire shipping and handling process. The new cartons eliminated the need for any additional protective packaging products and helped the manufacturer reduce their environmental impact.

Why the Customer Is Smiling

Corrugated packaging is an eco-friendly packaging solution that is recyclable, reusable, and compostable. It is also a renewable resource, made from wood pulp that comes from sustainably managed forests.

The manufacturer was so pleased with the project results that they continue to work with SupplyOne to develop other sustainable packaging solutions to help them meet their sustainability goals.
